Left click or tap on the “Start” button. Pressing the "clear" button, right above the "7" button will switch the mode of the numerical keys from the NUMBER mode and the Curser directional mode (my own termenology lol)

At first, I thought "Hardware", so I swapped out the keyboard for an identical one. That should fix your problem.
