If PPPoE DSL, should be 1492, if cable, PPPoA DSL, or Bridged DSL, should be 1500. Mail eventually comes through (sometimes), but after hours, and it's not reliable at all. I never had port 25 problems in the past: so it was good when I tried this solution as a workaround and it solved a temporary issue.. occasionally i can see the inbox number increment with the number of emails and its consistent with web based comcast mail, but outlook just isn't giving it to me and comcast

It suddenly stopped on March 26th, outgoig is fine - no incoming. Current info/settings were transferred from the older machines to these. I am using a Belkin ADSL Wireless modem router Sunny In Outlook 2007, Select "Tools" from the menu, go to "Account Settings" Click on the e-mail account you want to work Now I can send emails just fine!

I found whenever this happens if i check the account setup it has changed the outgoing mail server to localhost. Have moved to BT and it now works fine. With these steps, you might be 1 step closer in determining where the breakage happens. Do this on both Desktop and laptop.Open Outlook express.
