Well, I'm back using Windown Live Mail. Open Outlook 2010 and click the 'Home' Tab at the top 2. I hope they reinstate the task tray notifications for the final product. Outlook 2016 Notifications I just did this and it worked.
Exchange accounts If you are using an Exchange account, then you could also use Outlook Web Access (OWA) to get notifications via your browser or use a utility called OWA Tray. On top of that, they make the "Envelope Icon" almost impossible to distinguish from the normal Icon. I am using the 30-day trial version, and so far it works perfectly for both of my IMAP accounts. Let's see what they will do about it.
