Thanks...That puts an envelope icon in the notification area (via a rule) when mail arrives, but then you have to double click on the icon to clear it--not exactly the ideal But, if the email is going to a folder, let's say, Facebook, (all my facebook messages go to that folder because I created a rule) It won't let me know. The information displayed in a Desktop Alert varies depending on the item that you receive in your Inbox.
