I tested it in IMAP, it correctly works. Now I'm in the same boat as one of the guys above: every time I get an email, my phone beeps, and then I open Outlook to check it. Scroll down to the "Message arrival" section. To change the transparency of Desktop Alerts or how long they're visible, choose Desktop Alert Settings.

I haven't even seen the RC available yet. Disable all the Windows 8 Notifications in PC Settings. I have the notification area set to show all icons and notifications.
