They aren't precise enough at GHz frequencies. Noise Figure usually 1.0 dB or better. This type of LNB is sometimes offered with an adapter to fit it to an oval Sky minidish. The other thing that goes wrong is frequency drift, then the receiver won't lock without rescanning.
I've checked all the suggested sources: 1) no obstructions to dish 2) checked all physical connections (cables and connectors from all points from dish to receiver) and 3) alignment I have Faulty LNB? The only way to fully test an LNB is to fit it to a suitably aligned dish and connect a satellite receiver. Call for service. If you've read part 1, you might like to read Part 2. Had a rg cable running from a good lnb into a receiver, the good lnb on a dish aimed at a strong TP. Believe me when I tell you that any noise figure below 0.9 dB is fine.

Replacing the faulty Sky LNB will cure the problem. How Do You Know If Your Lnb Is Broken Every LNB is different because of manufacturing tolerances.
A single coaxial cable connects to the Digital (or Digital + Analogue) receiver which must be able to use DiSEqC signalling to select which LNB is to be used. Lnb Tester ill replace the short runs from the ground block to the LNB as well. I also suspect it's an aiming issue rather than an LNB issue. However, it's not a good idea to bodge an Invacom LNB onto a Sky minidish because the dish shape is not optimal for the Invacom (see below).
